The Principals’ Institute will focus on sharing best leadership practices for and by middle school principals. As instructional leaders, principals are responsible for identifying high quality professional development opportunities for their teaching staff; ensuring resources are available to support school staff, students and families, and, creating a culture of learning, to build strong teams. Principals from the 2006-08 cohort of GEAR UP schools will work collegially and share lessons learned about schools and students, with all the opportunities and challenges they represent. The Principals’ Institute will be held on June 22, 2006 in Oakland.  |
